Award Description: The Brock University Off-Campus Living office and Brock University Students’ Union (BUSU) are committed to building strong neighborhoods. We wish to acknowledge both Brock University students and long-term residents in the Niagara Region who have made, and continue to make, a difference in their community. To demonstrate our firm commitment, we're pleased to announce the 2009/2010 Great Neighbour Award.

Award Categories: There are three Great Neighbour Award categories: individual student; household/group of students; and permanent resident/household.

Award Criteria: To be eligible for this award, the nominee must fulfill the following requirements:

1. Eligibility: Must be a current Brock University student (full or part-time) or a permanent resident of Niagara.


2. Community/Neighbourhood Involvement: Nominee(s) will have made a meaningful contribution towards the enrichment of community and neighbourhood relations between Brock University and its surrounding community. The activities and efforts being recognized must have taken place between September 1st, 2009 and March 1st 2010.

Value of the Award: In addition to the award or prize associated with the category of nomination, all valid nominees will receive a certificate in recognition of their neighbourhood involvement and contributions.

Individual Brock Student: (three prizes awarded each semester)

Winner selects one of the following prize options:

• $60 gift card/certificate for the Pen Centre, local grocery stores, or Brock Campus Store
• Dinner for 4 (either at Skybar, or Monday Night Football all-you-can-eat at Isaacs)

Brock Student Group/Household: (three prizes awarded each semester)

Winners receive both of the following prizes

• $100 gift card/certificate for the Pen Centre, local grocery stores, or Brock Campus Store
• Dinner for 8 (either at Skybar, or Monday Night Football all-you-can-eat at Isaacs)

Permanent Resident/Household: (two prizes awarded each semester)

• $80 gift certificate for the restaurant/store of the winner’s choice

Award Application Details & Description: Please complete the attached form to nominate a Brock student(s) / permanent resident for the Great Neighbour Award.

Online or hard copy forms must be submitted by Friday November 13th, 2009 for Fall Semester awards, and by Friday, March 1st, 2010 for Winter Semester Awards.

Award Selection Process: Each application will be reviewed in confidence by a panel consisting of representatives from the Brock University Off-Campus Living Office, the Brock University Students’ Union (BUSU), and community members. All applicant names will be removed from the applications prior to review by the Selection Committee to ensure 100% neutrality.

Award Presentation: The awards will be presented once award nominations have been evaluated following the November 13th, 2009 and March 1st, 2010 award submission deadlines.
